THS Convention 2011

Titanic Heritage Tour

J. J. Astor's Rhinebeck and the Historic Hudson Valley

April 14, 15, 16, 17, 2011

John Jacob Astor IV spent many happy hours in this storied section of the Hudson Valley in Rhinebeck on his farm estate, Ferncliff, and on his beloved yacht Nourmahal that was anchored in the Hudson and where he honeymooned with Madeleine.

THS's Titanic Heritage Tour is a four day convention exploring this historic area of grand estates and famous people. Instead of our usual three day weekend it is designed like the late Mike Rudd’s Titanic Heritage Tours that were very popular in the mid-1990s where we had a base hotel and traveled by coach during the day to Titanic-related and historic locales.

There will be a coach for transportation from and to our hotel for sightseeing historic sites, restaurants and all daily events.
Travel times, tour tickets and some meals will be included in the registration fee.

We need your feedback as quickly as possible if you are thinking about attending since restaurants, group tickets to purchase and hiring a coach need to confirmed and paid for to hold certain dates. As specific times and necessary details are received, we’ll post the registration fee and form here and in the Titanic Commutator.

This convention has many do-not-miss events; it is important we hear from you ASAP if you think you will be attending.

When the itinerary and programs are confirmed, it will be posted here.

The Holiday Inn Kingston, 503 Washington Avenue, Kingston New York (845-338-0400) is our base for the convention.

The Inn is located in the Hudson River Valley Region of New York State in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains and is easily accessible from the NY Thruway (I-87) at Exit 19, midway between Albany and New York City. A great feature is the indoor recreation center, offering a heated indoor pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, game and conversation area in a garden atmosphere. On premises is Louie's (http://www.holidayinnkingstonny.com/louies.html) , a full-service restaurant and Gather's Lounge (http://www.holidayinnkingstonny.com/lounge.html) with live entertainment.

A discount price of $99 a night per room (singles & doubles) is offered if booked before cut-off March 15, 2011. $99 is for Thursday April 14 thru Monday April 18, 2011.

A registration form will appear on this site as soon as the necessary data is completed to fill in or print out and mail in. Questions? Contact Chairman Chris Dougherty at: cdougherty@rvmedics.com
